The first Bioblitz of the year is at a secret, undisclosed location south of Boane featured some huge rare pachypodium (Kudu lilly) plants and a walk up to a small hill that looked as if it could harbour interesting wildlife. We would like to keep the plants safe so that is why the location needs to remain undisclosed.
The rains had not yet arrived at this spot so animals like butterflies were a little rare. We concentrated on plants like the indigenous Dombeya and the very beautiful Pterocarpus rotundifolia. All the images taken will be added to the animal demographic website (ADU) in Capetown as a permanent record.
